Matthijs Stam, Heemskerk 1963
Matthijs’ first known drawings are from ’64, when he wasn’t even two years old. These ‘early works’ already clearly showed that he was trained by his father, the artist and art teacher Jos Stam.
Matthijs mainly works in commission. He specializes in portraits, city-views and other large, storytelling
paintings in which a lot is revealed about the commissioners (and often also about their family and
environment).
His work is part of many collections, all over the world.
